First Grader Talked Her Way Out Of Public School
I can remember when my now 9-year old daughter was in the first grade attending public school getting in trouble for talking too much. How do you feel when you get a call from your child’s teacher wanting to sit down with you and talk about how the class get disrupted by your child?
Little did the teacher know, when a child is testing second grade level, it might not be the child’s fault. I mean, if you finish all of your work, what else is there to do. Exactly, it wasn’t so much our daughters fault, as she was bored and hadn’t anything else to do but stay entertained. Lilly is also the middle child and was acting out because she wanted attention. At home she got more of our focus for just her. Once she was home, her bad behavior improved dramatically. The best thing that could of ever happened was talking her way out of the public school system.
In my humble opinion, you couldn’t compare a child in the fourth grade public school program to a home schooled fourth grader. Let’s compare; our daughter reads a 300 page book a month, attends additional electives such as technology, dance, theater, drawing, science, Spanish and karate to just name a few. It blows my mind how the charter/home school program is molding children for greatness. We are just talking about my children, we are talking any child that has parents decide to engage for what is FREE!
Hint: I will save the Free for my next post because you are going to want to hear about the charter in Natomas, California.
